A 12 bore double barreled hammer shotgun by Perrins & Son, no 2507.

Jones patent rotary under-lever, non rebounding, bar-in-wood, sidelock with a captive forend .It has superb engraving incorporating shooting dogs , birds , and featuring vine leaves with bunches of grapes . The Damascus 30” barrels are beautifully browned with the rib engraved Perrins & Son Makers 6 Mealcheapen Street Worcester. The fine engraving on the tang extends into the browned rib of the barrels. Walnut stock with a blank escutcheon and steel butt plate. Barrels originally Birmingham proofed 1855-1875 with later nitro-proofing. Overall length 46”, barrel length 30”, LOP 14.25” weight 6lbs 6 ozs. Not choked. This is a very fine gun of the best quality made for a discerning gentlemen of the Victorian age. I believe the gun was made in Worcester 1859- 1865 and probably is a conversion from an original pinfire. It is in really excellent condition and is used at South Worcestershire Shooting Ground on a regular basis
