Thomas Perrins - Percussion Pistols

A Pair of 25 bore Percussion Duelling Pistols by Thomas Perrins Nos. 353 and 354 (The earliest known numbers)  Engraved on the top flat of the barrels T.PERRINS GUNMAKER TO HIS MAJESTY WINDSOR. Silver escutchions engraved with the owners crest They were wrongly catalogued by the Sale Room as circa 1850.

As Queen Victoria was on the throne in 1850  and Bailey and Nie record T. Perrins at Windsor from 1843 I decided further research was needed.

I am now able to prove conclusively that Thomas Perrins was operating in Windsor from 1835 and as Queen Victoria came to the throne in 1837 my pistols have to have been made between those two dates when William IV was on the throne.

They are contained in a later fitted case with accessories including a mint condition powder flask by Dixon and Son.
