A 12 bore double barrelled false hammer shotgun by Perrins & Son, 59 Broad St.
Perrins & Son (False hammer gun from about 1880)
A very rare example of the gun makers art, a hammerless hammer gun, also known as the false hammer gun from about 1880. This gun was developed at the change over from external hammers to fully concealed self cocking hammers. This 12 bore double barrel English shotgun circa 1880 by Perrins and Son, Broad Street, Worcester has side lock plates crisply engraved with dogs and game birds, the top bolt of the gun has engraved on it the Worcester town crest. All the metalwork is engraved to a very high standard alas the barrel are not original. The gun is fitted with 30” blued steel barrels - nitro proofed and has a French walnut stock and very fine chequering.
